It’s been a while since I did one of these, so thought it was about time I communicated with you.

It’s been a bit of a quiet time but then that may have been as a result of the weather. Coring has been completed and with all this rain about it should…well actually…I have no idea what it will mean, so I’ll probably leave comments about what it should or shouldn’t do to the experts…

Looking forward though, to what’s coming up. This Saturday we are playing the “Short course scramble”, which means we are playing off the yellow tees, there are NO club restrictions, so essentially it will be like playing a different course, so come along and join in, what should be, an interesting day. The rest of the month there’s a Stableford scramble and a Net Scramble.

Club Matchplay Champs start in the first week of October, the signup sheets are in the mens changing room, if you’re intending to play, please put your names down early, it makes organising the draw easier.

As per usual we are looking for starters for Saturdays, Cyril Turner is doing an awesome job of getting starters, but to make his life a bit easier, it would be great if you could contact him and volunteer your services, don’t forget that those who do starting get a free drink after their round.

Don’t forget that this coming Monday (15th) is the Special General meeting, so hopefully we’ll see lots of the men’s section in attendance (that has the ring of a Tui advert to it).

Seriously though, if you don’t attend then you can’t complain if you don’t like the decisions made on your behalf.

Until next month

Alastair Reed,

Men’s Captain.
