Hi

NZTA have made a decision on the design of the Maunganui/Girven Rd Interchange. It is option 3A which results in the railway corridor shifting to the southern side of the driving range linking to the existing track well down the 13th.

The Course Committee has examined the corridor and with small modifications to the Men's 13th tee and a new 13th gold tee we do not have to alter the course design. It is planned that the southern side of the corridor will have high protective fencing (for the train driver) and the impact on the 13th is that the fence will be closer and longer than present.

We are now formally in discussion with NZTA, NZ Rail, Beca's (design Engineers) Tga City Council and the Driving Range on all the implications and modifications involved, not the least of who has to pay for each element.

The significant issue for us is the loss of  track access to the practice area. This is also an issue for the Council who need access to the pump station in "Carters corner". Beca's are to  investigate options from McDonald St, Aviation Drive or around/through our course.

The timing, all subject to funding is to commence early 2016, which should allow sufficient time for agreements and modifications.

A copy of the plan is on the notice board and there is an open day of the whole project at the ASB arena on the 15th July
