Tee Availability

Omanu Golf uses a ROLL-UP starting system rather than fixed tee times.This means that you can get off most times when you want to (no-one can book up all the start times in advance).

Reciprocal Rights

Reciprocal rights are a great way of spreading the game of golf by enabling you to play different courses and giving you, our members, more bang for your membership dollar. We currently have reciprocal rights with the Napier (Waiohiki) Golf club and Surfers Paradise, Australia. For all details about thoses courses please use the hyper links below.

Friends of Omanu

Waiting on content from... not sure if Bart is still looking after the FOO people? March 2009 Bulletin Hi everybody. Great job by the Friends in September-the course and surrounds are aways noticeable different after this bi-annual event. On this occasion drains, ferns, tees, hedges and the carparking lines all got the once over.

History of Our Club

In the 1960's the Mt Maunganui Borough Council acquired an area of land at the corner of Matapihi Road and the railway with the intention to use it for multi sports activities. However, due to the proximity of the airport it was considered that the area might be more suitable for development as a golf course. In 1969 a then noted golf course designer, Mr H. P. Dale was engaged to prepare a number of plans and layouts. Late in 1970 the Council advertised the availability of the land and layout plans to any group of golfers prepared to form…
